Before leaving on one of my regular trips to Germany, my friend Liz gave me a small rubber duck to take with me. Occasionally I would get these ducks complimentary from the hotels I have stayed in, but this one was different...he didn't squeak! Unfortunately the little squeaker thing fell out of his ass at some point in his life, and now when you squeeze him he just blows air and doesn't make a sound...so sad. But Squeakless Ducky's disability turned into a blessing when I decided to carry him around with me as I traveled. Squeaks coming from your pockets as you walk around a city would draw all kinds of unnecessary attention. Squeakless
Ducky's first trip was to work with me to show him what I do, and for him
live the "Sultan's life" for a day. We drove into work, him stuffed
into my laptop bag to sneak him by security, and started off the day in my office (container) reading some emails.
Next we went to the plane and had a look around. And here are the
pictures that started it all... |
